I find being creative is fluid and fearless. Many times I choose to surrender control of mark-making over to a force beyond the physical, uncertain of the outcome. It’s terra incognito throughout the process, but the result is art that has openness, freshness, depth and authenticity. There are moments when I’m on the razors edge between success and disaster. My approach to art is connected to my life journey, especially when I was an adrenaline seeking U.S. Coast Guard aviator.
