Movement Labs: Masterclasses & Artist Talk-Back
Movement Labs: Masterclass & Artist Talk-back with Christian Denice
The Rosin Box Project invites you into the studio for Movement Labs, a dynamic Arts District activation that makes the creative process visible, participatory, and alive.
This special edition features internationally recognized choreographer Christian Denice, whose work has been created for companies including BalletX, Cincinnati Ballet, Nevada Ballet Theatre, and Les Ballets Jazz de Montréal. A former company member with River North Dance Chicago and Andonis Foniadakis Dance Company in Athens, Christian is known for crafting movement that explores the complexities of the human experience, inviting reflection, sensation, and connection.
Movement Labs unfolds in two parts:
Masterclass (Pre-Registration Required | Free)
An advanced, technique and artistry-focused masterclass led by Christian Denice. Designed for pre-professional and professional dancers but open to all levels, this session offers elite training without leaving San Diego.
Artist Talk-Back + Q&A (Free & Open to the Public)
Immediately following the class, Christian will share insights into his creative process, career sustainability, and how he builds movement, musicality, and intention. This facilitated conversation includes audience questions and, when appropriate, brief movement demonstrations to help connect ideas to the body.
Movement Labs transforms the studio into a shared community learning space where training and dialogue sit side-by-side. Whether you are a dancer, an Arts District visitor, a family member, or simply curious about how choreography comes to life, this event welcomes you into the “why” behind the work.
Free admission.
Masterclass requires advance registration.
Talk-back open to the public (space permitting).
