While we must forgo our annual tree lighting event, we still welcome the community to visit our landmark Norfolk Pine Tree all season long. Standing 88 feet tall and fantastically adorned with twinkling lights and oversized ornaments, the tree will light-up each evening beginning Thanksgiving weekend. Initially, a stone plaque was under the tree which told visitors a bit about its history:

"This white fir tree was removed from the Cuyamacas and replanted in this position by a sincere friend of Naval Training Center San Diego, Mr. Ralph M. Dyar, in appreciation of the assistance rendered by officers and men of this command in quelling a destructive forest fire in the Cuyamacas, Christmas, A. D. 1928.”

You can find our tree in North Promenade, just behind Stone Brewing and Liberty Public Market.

We also won’t be offering photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus this year, however, you can participate in our #SaluteTheSeason social contest and be entered to win an interactive Zoom with Santa himself! Click the Salute the Season Art Installations tab to the right for more information.
