EXPERIENCE SOMETHING CREATIVE AT ARTS DISTRICT LIBERTY STATION

This popular free arts event takes place on the First Friday of every month from 5-9 pm throughout the 28 acre campus. After 10 years, it has grown into San Diego’s biggest innovative arts event! Meet working artists, enjoy dance, theatre and music performances featuring community partners and discover intriguing public art installations. Wander and explore the galleries, museums, artist studios, distinctive shops and dining at historic Liberty Station.  

March Highlights 

Spring into Art at First Friday ARTS DISTRICT on March 6 from 5 - 9 PM. This is San Diego’s most unique, fun and authentic event to find locally made art and gifts. Experience a Malashock Dance performance, make Pizza Art at Solare Ristorante, Women's Museum of California hosts a Power of the Ballot Box performance, San Diego Craft Collective features a Kids Craft Hour and film screening, AND SO MUCH MORE! 

Building 175
Malashock Dance Company will perform family-friendly new work by John Malashock, commissioned by our partners San Diego Symphony Orchestra, The Mraz Foundation, and Classics 4 Kids. Dances are set to Beethoven, the story of Ferdinand the Bull, and Jason Mraz! Performance at 6:00 PM 

Building 176
San Diego Craft Collective welcomes guests to join the Kids Craft Hour early at 5:00 PM. Also, enjoy a  Craft in America craft segment screening At 7:00 PM featuring craft artists, their stories, and a behind-the-scenes peek at how they work. Free and open to the public! Open grom 5:00 - 9:00 PM 

Building 201
Solare Ristorante welcomes guests to their Pizza as Art interactive experience! Visit the Solare Outdoor Wood-fired Pizza Oven and get creative by making pizza-themed art! Guests who join the fun will receive a special thank you from Solare! From 5:00 – 9:00 PM outside by the Nikigator sculpture!

Building 202
San Diego Watercolor Society invites you to celebrate their 55th Anniversary at the Past Presidents Show.  The gallery will be open 5-8 PM.  Reception at 6:30 PM.

Artist Leslie Pierce/And Something Different invites guests to see new works and see the artist paint live! From 5:00 - 9-00 PM 
MKGoodwin Fine Art invites guests to see the painter at work, with studio doors open and welcoming! Open from 5:00 - 9:00 PM

MK Envision Galleries is pleased to showcase five local fine art photographers, whose work will be displayed for the Winter Quarter at MK Envision Galleries. Open from 5:00 - 9:00 PM

Women's Museum of California welcomes guests to The Power of the Ballot Box Theatrical Performance depicting the struggle for women to gain the vote. Performance at 7:00 PM, Museum open from 5:00 - 9:00 PM 

Lauren LeVieux Artist Studio welcomes guests to Walk the Labyrinth, the digital interactive art installation featuring the interplay of technology and ancient form. The installation closes on 3/7. Come by at 7:00 PM for an artist talk about the design and development of the installation.  Enjoy your last chance to Walk the Labyrinth located adjacent to Lauren LeVieux Artist Studio in the courtyard between barracks 16 and 15. Open from 5:00 - 9:00 PM

Blue Pearl Art invites guests to see new works and see the artist paint live! From 5:00 - 9-00 PM 

Barracks 14
Cornel/Henry Art is pleased to present 'mother series' by Jennifer Georgescu, a San Diego based photographer. Opening Reception and Artist Talk 7:00 PM, Gallery Open from 5:00 - 9:00 

Nina Montejano Artist Studio welcomes guests to join Nina where she’ll be exhibiting new works and selling new mini prints from her series "As an Artist, I Have a Lot of Time on My Hands." Snacks will be provided all night long. From 5:00 - 9-00 PM
