Only 100 paintings were selected from nearly 900 entries from 21 countries. The exhibition was juried by award-winning artist Michael Reardon. Reardon said "it was very obvious from the start that judging the show would be a daunting task because there were so many extremely strong paintings." Visit www.sdws.org starting Oct. 1 to view and purchase the paintings as well as the Exhibition Catalog and Opening Reception video.
Visions Art Museum
Visions Art Museum presents Shibori Surfboards by Subtidal. Join us for the online opening of Shibori Surfboards by Subtidal! Subtidal is a family business in a suburb of Los Angeles enjoying proximity to the west-facing beaches. They benefit almost daily from a strong offshore breeze blowing away the haze of the marine layer. Subtidal is inspired by the resulting sunshine lighting up our world with intense color. Utilizing the artistry of a centuries-old Japanese dye process known as Shibori, they transform silk, wool, cotton, linen, and hemp into glistening works of art, reminiscent of the organic beauty found in the magical, always wet, Subtidal zone.
