Transcending Perception Community Unveiling

Join artists and collaborators for the unveiling of the second iteration of Transcending Perception, featuring a reception with light refreshments and poetry by participating artists.

This second iteration of the art installation part of Arts District Liberty Station's Installations at the Station program features content from workshops with local poets, community leaders, and artists. Each door was passed from a community member of the original installation to current participants, thematically continuing the narrative of each door from the first iteration.

Transcending Perception challenges the media's role in shaping perceptions of historically marginalized communities by centering their narratives, joy and perspectives in this collective expression. The 9-foot-tall sculptures, created between Tijuana and San Diego symbolize entry points to stories of migration, community, and identity. The installation is located in front of the Lot Theatre and we look forward to seeing you!
