Learn to Sew & Dye with Indigo!

Saturday/Sunday, October 3 & 4, 2-4pm
Beginners welcome! Appropriate for ages 12yrs+, or ages 8+yrs with an adult! Join us in a calm and creative setting and learn to sew and indigo natural dye your own unique squares! Instructor LeVar Johnson guides students through the basics of learning to sew on a sewing machine to create two to four upcycled and hemmed cloth squares that can be used as cloth napkins, handkerchiefs, neckerchiefs or other decor. How many you make will depend on your pace as you develop your skills. On the second day, learn to apply a variety of patterns using shibori dye resist techniques to your sewn cloths, following up with a dip in the deep blue indigo dye vat. Be sure to bring an apron and wear clothes that can get messy for the second day of class. You can also buy a Craft Collective apron here to pick up the day of class.
This class is designed for beginners. No prior experience necessary. However, taking Family & Beginner Sewing 101 | Sewing Machine Basics beforehand is encouraged.
Ages 12yrs+, or ages 8+yrs with a participating adult.
Friendly Notice: A trained service dog will be with the instructor during class. The dog is calm, well‑trained, and accustomed to group environments.
