Ceramics | Make Your Own Mug: Slab-Building Workshop

Create your own ceramic mug this season!
Saturdays, November 22, 3-6pm (build) & December 6, 2-4pm (glaze)
In this hands-on 2-part class, students will learn the slab-building method to create a functional ceramic mug from start to finish. We’ll cover rolling and cutting clay slabs, shaping and joining forms with the help of cylindrical supports, and attaching handles that are both sturdy and comfortable to hold. Students will also have the opportunity to personalize their mug with texture, carving, or underglaze decoration. By the end of class, each participant will have a unique handmade mug that will be glazed and fired for everyday use. This workshop is perfect for beginners, as well as those looking to refresh their clay handbuilding skills.

Projects will be ready to pick up 3-4 weeks after the last class.
Beginners welcome. Ages 16+ years
We recommend that each student bring an apron to wear and an older towel or a cloth rag.
