2025 VVSD Stand Down Resource Event
Veterans Village of San Diego Presents the 2025 Stand Down Resource Event
August 8–9, 2025 | 6:00 AM – 5:00 PM Daily | Liberty Station, San Diego, CA
Now in its 37th year, the VVSD Stand Down Resource Event is a transformative two-day experience dedicated to serving all veterans, including unhoused and at-risk veterans, their families, and—for the first time—active-duty service members.
The event will officially open with a ceremonial kickoff on Friday, August 8 from 9:00 AM to 9:30 AM, featuring the Color Guard, National Anthem, and Pledge of Allegiance, followed by remarks from Mayor Todd Gloria and VVSD President and CEO Akilah Templeton and other community leaders.
Over 125 community partners and service providers will gather to deliver vital, on-site resources including:
Medical, dental, and vision care
Legal assistance
Housing Assistance
Mental health and substance use support
Employment services with resume development and job training
Employers available for on-site interviews
VA services and benefits navigation
Free phone distribution to veterans and active duty members
Holistic health providers
Meals served
Haircuts
Clothing distribution
Child care and pet services
Educational workshops
And much more!
