Enlisted Club
Walking tour sign is located on the north side of the entrance to Cocina35
The most important rule at the enlisted club: No officers allowed! Built in 1941, the enlisted club encouraged sailors to be themselves, kick back, and have fun. With a bowling alley, pool tables, and theater, there were plenty of ways to spend Friday night. The food was good, and the drinks were cheap. The legal drinking age was also 18, lower than out in town. Shore Patrol made sure everyone stayed on base after they left the club.

The enlisted club also welcomed guests of sailors and with country & western and rock-n-roll themed nights. Many local residents had fond memories of dancing there.
