"Tied" Discussion and Drop-In Workshop

Learn behind the installation project "Tied", exploring its connection to both U.S. Navy traditions and Filipino heritage. Also discover the significance of the knots used, the woven textiles, and their connection to the often-overlooked contributions of Filipino recruits in the U.S. Navy. Following the talk, participants will engage in a creative activity using simple knotting and weaving techniques. They will then have an opportunity to contribute to the installation. This interactive experience invites participants to reflect on personal and collective histories while honoring the deep ties between community, tradition, and service.
