Indigo Natural Dye
We are excited to offer two natural Indigo workshops for Fiber Fest! Join us for an afternoon or evening of natural dyeing with the gorgeous blues of Indigo!
Have you always been intrigued by the beauty of indigo. This class is a unique opportunity for you to upcycle and transform your favorite t-shirt, blouse, scarf, or a yard of fabric that you want to use for your next project. Each student is welcome to bring one item. Item must be all natural fibers and not weigh more than 1/2 pounds or measure beyond 1.5 yards (weigh fabric while it’s dry).
There will be a brief instruction of shibori dye resist techniques that can be applied to your project. Come experience the magic of indigo using a natural organic indigo vat that will be made specially for the class.
This class is appropriate for all ages.
This workshop is part of Craft Collective’s first-ever Fiber Fest! You’re invited to join in the festivities the day before, on Saturday, June 8th, for a day filled with fiber fun! A presentation from Southern California Fibershed, a Merino sheep shearing demo & talk, lathe, wet felting and spinning demos, free kids crafts, a fun macrame’ make & take craft, an epic fiber & fabric swap, a yarn sale from Apricot Yarn, and more!
