Sprint in to Art at Friday Night Liberty on March 3 from 5 to 9 PM. This is San Diego’s most unique, fun and authentic event to find locally made art and gifts. Experience Malashock Dance performances and site-specific theater with Circle Circle dot dot’s “San Diego, I Love You”, FX Dojo Popup gallery exhibit on Captain America, rock out with Recreation Music Center concerts in the North Chapel and in Barracks 17 Plaza, enjoy the newest works from artists in ARTS DISTRICT, and so much more! Visitors can start their stroll at the Dick Laub NTC Command Center – 2640 Historic Decatur Road and pick up a monthly program and District map.

PERFORMANCES
Malashock Dance & The Malashock Dance School presents a sneak peak of Propulsion, a Malashock Dance Co-Production featuring the choreography of Malashock Dance Company Dancers: Blythe Barton, Andrew Holmes, John Paul Lawson & Lara Segura. These four unique dancers come together to present an evening of emotional strength and resilience through riveting choreography in the intimate setting of the Abbe Wolfsheimer Studio at 6 PM and 7 PM located in Dorothea Laub Dance Place, Building 175.

Circle Circle dot dot, the theater behind site-specific musical production San Diego, I Love You will present one of the performance vignettes from the musical. Company members will also be present selling tickets to the closing weekend perfomances on March 4th and 5th. The reoccurring performances will take place at 7 PM, 7:30 PM, 8 PM and 8:30 PM in the Martha Pace Swift Gallery, Building 201.

Recreational Music Center rocks out with featured acts including music by: Fluorescent Grizzlies, Rising Tides, Flying Rockers, Fearfully Made, Doghouse, On the Run, and the Wild Californians. Recreational Music Center is Liberty Station’s nonprofit community music school and their talented young stars will perform modern and classic favorites the whole family will love in the North Chapel and in Barracks 17 Plaza.

GROUP ART EXHIBITIONS
FX Dojo hosts Artists Salute: a group tribute to Captain America curated with multimedia works from over 30 artists, including a painted motorcycle, Russian Dolls and music by PaperAmmo and friends! Enjoy the gallery opening reception from 5 – 10 PM. Building 176, Studio 106 on the Ground Floor.

MK Envision Galleries fine art photography gallery features the works of world travelers plus local talents. See the latest exhibition entitled “Capturing the wonders of nature and life”, 5 PM – 9 PM in Barracks 17.

Lauren Allen LeVieux of Barracks 15 hosts a curated exhibit of ARTS DISTRICT artist in the Dick Laub NTC Command Center. Building 200.

INTERACTIVE ART
Lovejoy Creations invites you to check out colorful artwork and classes offered. While there Make a card for a Veteran and “Tony the Vet” will deliver your creative works to the VA hospital. Always serving refreshing mint cucumber lemonade in Baracks 19, Second Floor.

NEW WORKS
M Fischbeck Studio Gallery features California impressionist, Peggy Fischbeck’s recent works. Barracks 19, Second Floor.

EAS Art studio is known for featuring contemporary and abstract art using mixed mediums on canvases, wood and different surfaces. Barracks 17.

Point Loma Tea fatures Jane Lafazio’s Tea Story. Each original collage contains a teabag within the artwork! Meet the artist and from 5 – 8 PM in Barracks 14.

San Diego Writers, Ink See what the writers are up to and what SDWI has to offer during a monthly meetup on the first Friday of the month. Beginning at 5:30 PM in Barracks 16, Second Floor.
